Welcome back to my Week 8 edition of fantasy starting and benching recommendations. You might be surprised by a few of the names above, so here's a quick summary explaining why I've come up with the above list. As always, GOOD LUCK in Week 8!
All Start 'Em QB's are up against weaker pass defenses, and yes after a few weeks in the Bench 'Em column, JT O'Sullivan made his way back into a recommended starter. He's up against a Seattle team that's falling apart withOUT a true starting QB and given up over 240 yards per game and a total of 10 TD's. Even if he throws a pic, he should still provide enough value to your team.
Eli's been playing decent, but he's up against a tough Pittsburgh defense who have given up a league best 159 passing yards/game to go along with a league leading 25 sacks. The pressure will be on. Similarly, the rookie from Atlanta will probably see more blitzing than he's ever seen against the Eagles. Don't think he'll react well in Philly.
Thomas Jones is at home against the league worst rushing defense of KC. I like McGahee to bring another solid performance as a follow up to his strong Week 7 performance as the Ravens host Oakland in a game which should have a whole lot o' running.
McFadden will be on the other side of the ball, but he's still nursing a sore toe, he's up against the Baltimore run defense and Fargas remains the starter for Oakland. Jacobs, like Eli, will be going against a tough PIT defense which has only allowed 70 rushing yards per game and a total of 3 TD's this season. Not a good match-up.
I like McNabb and Jackson to combine for a strong game against a soft Atlanta pass defense.
The last time I told you to sit Harrison, he went off for his best game of the season, but that Indy offense goes up against a Tennesse defense which has allowed the fewest points per game (only 11) and only ONE SINGLE pass TD all season. ...and with Matt Ryan expected to see a whole lotta pressure in Philly, I don't think White will get much action.
Regarding defenses, Baltimore should be able to shut down Oakland's horrible passing game, and the Jets will be trying to stop Tyler Thigpen and Kolby Smith. Seattle looks like they've almost thrown the towel in this year and the Chargers have been horrible away from home and find themselves in New Orleans with Brees' high-powered offense.
