AHL Round Up

Let’s take a look at some of the AHL rookies who have been putting in solid performances thus far and should be on Gm’s radar as possible call-ups for injury riddled squads.

Andrei Loktionov – 12 GP (5g 7a 12pts)

Busted out of the gates with a hat trick and 4 point performance in game 1. Has slowed a little lately but still remains in the top 10 in league scoring. Has impressed with playmaking and has drawn comparisons to Igor Larionov for his intelligent play.

Sergei Shirokov – 12 GP (5g 6a 11pts)

Began the year in Vancouver but was out of his element through the first few games but acclimatized nicely at the AHL level. Has since been recalled to the Canucks but put together a nice 12 game stretch where he collected 5 goals and just under a PPG for the Moose. Will probably yo-yo back and for the between Vancouver and Manitoba all year.
